Eye Color
Australian Shepherd breed standards allow for any color eye such as light and dark brown, amber, blue, green as well as any other color that may be thrown.
Not all eyes will be the same, sometimes a dog can have two different shades or colors. Typically, Tri- Color Dogs have brown eyes, but there is a recessive gene (Blue Eye Tri, or BET) that allows for blue eyes in both red and black tri color coats. Merle Coated dogs more commonly have blue eyes but can have any variation of eye color. Some eyes can have multiple colors in the same eye with marbling or flecking. |
